Let AI Bring Clarity: Stop the Interrogation
Let AI Bring Clarity: Stop the Interrogation
We've all been there. Complex client situation, scattered details, and you need help figuring it out.
The Old Way Was Broken
Here's how things used to work in my agency:
Team member: "Hey Mike, I have this client situation and I'm not sure what to do..."
What followed was painful. I'd spend 10-15 minutes playing detective, asking question after question, trying to piece together what actually happened. Meanwhile, they'd tell me a long, meandering story with details everywhere.
Every "quick question" became a time-consuming interrogation that frustrated everyone involved.
The Fix: AI First, Solutions Second
Now, before anyone asks for help, they run their situation through ChatGPT or Claude first.
The process:
Dump everything into AI: dates, details, what doesn't make sense
Let AI organize it into a clear timeline and summary
Bring both the organized problem AND your proposed solution
The Transformation
Instead of: "Hey Mike, I have this client situation..." followed by a confusing story...
I now get: "Hi Mike, I need guidance on client's vehicle addition. I've organized the details with AI:
Vehicle addition requested 02/01/2026, but registration shows joint ownership with his son. Son was listed as unlicensed in 08/2021 but got his license in 12/2021 without notification. He has violations making him ineligible for coverage with the carrier, and this state doesn't allow exclusions.
My recommendation: [their proposed solution], but I wanted your input."
What used to take 15 minutes now takes 2 minutes.
Why This Works
Two things happen when you organize thoughts and propose solutions:
You often figure it out yourself
When you do need help, the conversation becomes exponentially more productive
This strategy is about training problem solvers, not problem reporters.
Beyond Insurance
This scales to any industry with complex situations: legal cases, financial planning, project management. The principle is the same: use AI to bring clarity to complexity before seeking human guidance.
Your colleagues will appreciate organized, thoughtful requests rather than stream-of-consciousness problem dumps. You'll get better advice faster and develop stronger analytical skills.
Start Today
Try this with your next complex situation. Spend five minutes organizing your thoughts with AI, then present both the clear problem and your proposed solution.
You might be surprised how often the act of organizing helps you solve it yourself.
The tools are available. The question is whether you'll use them to bring clarity to your next challenge.
